A circular dry stone wall in Nottinghamshire

We've just finished an interesting little project, a circular dry stone wall in Nottinghamshire.

We were asked to build the wall as a memorial to a family member who’d passed away. The stone had been brought in from a quarry further afield but a pale limestone had been chosen to try and match the local stonework of the area. Unfortunately, as is often the case, there aren’t any local quarries still running.

The client had come up with the idea of building a dry stone wall around a tree. It is quite striking and unique now the project is finished, looking like a work of art. The wall was finished with upright toppers and we were very pleased with the look of it. The January weather was kind to us as well. There were freezing starts, but during the days there were lots of sun and hats came off! It will be an enduring memorial.
